RETURN TO ELEMENTS Small archive gallery [Pop-up store] 7/1-7/14 월스와일 무브먼트의 팝업 스토어 'Return to Elements'에서는 여러 제품들의 구매와 더불어 5년간의 다양한 아카이브들을 경험하실 수 있습니다. 이번 팝업 스토어는 포르투 세랄베스 현대 미술관에서 진행했던 건축가, 알바로 시자(Alvaro siza)의 전시에서 영감을 받아 꾸며졌습니다. 알바로 시자가 많은 영향을 받았던 가우디의 책이나 그의 수첩 속 메모들 그리고 무수히 많은 디자인 스케치들을 보고 우리도 지금까지 시도해 왔던 다양한 노력과 고민의 흔적을 세부적인 부분들로 나누어 소개하고자 합니다. 그에 따라 이번 팝업스토어는 단순히 제품만 판매하는 공간이 아닌 작은 아카이브 갤러리와 같이 기획했습니다. 가방(Project 3)과 모자(Project 6) 카테고리를 중심으로 디자이너들의 고민과 시도, 영감의 대상 그리고 디자인과 관련한 기록이나 패턴 그리고 샘플 및 원, 부자재들을 확인할 수 있습니다. 이는 하나의 제품이 탄생하기까지 많은 노력과 시간이 필요하다는 것을 보여주며, 좋은 원, 부자재와 많은 시간 가다듬은 디자인으로부터 가치 있는 제품과 서비스가 만들어진다는 우리의 철학을 보여주는 중요한 요소들입니다. 우리가 만들고 제안하는 ‘가방과 모자’라는 아이템은 심미적인 부분만큼 중요한 것이 사용자를 고려한 ‘편의성 그리고 기능성’ 이기에 보이지 않는 부분일지라도 최선의 노력을 다하며 지난 5년간의 아카이브들을 쌓아왔습니다. 이번 월스와일 무브먼트 팝업에서는 이 생각과 실천의 결과물을 손님분들과 공유하고자 합니다. 편한 마음으로 방문해 주시고, 즐겨주시기 바랍니다. This pop-up store was inspired by an exhibition by Alvaro Siza, an architect at the Porto Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art. Looking at the records in Alvaro Siza's notebook, countless design sketches, and Gaudí's books, which he was greatly influenced by, we would like to introduce the traces of various efforts and concerns that we have tried so far by dividing them into detailed elements. Accordingly, this pop-up store was planned as a small archive gallery, not simply a space that only sells products. Focusing on the bags (Project 3) and hats (Project 6) categories, you can check designers' concerns and attempts, objects of inspiration, and design-related records, patterns, samples, originals, and subsidiary materials. This shows that it takes a lot of effort and time to create a product, and that valuable products and services are created from good originals, subsidiary materials, and designs that have been refined over a lot of time.
